 Care & Washing

1. REMOVE Solids- Whether you choose to swish, shake, or spray, remove as much solid matter as possible in the toilet.

2. COLD Prewash- Cold water will remove any remaining solid material without setting in stains.

3. HOT Wash with detergent. (see recommended detergents) Hot water is required to sterilize the diapers and remove germs

4. COLD rinse with an extra rinse. Why so much rinsing? To ensure that all soap has been rinsed off your diapers. Soap residue will cause the diapers to smell.

5. DRY- Line drying will prolong the life of your bamboo diapers. We however dry everything in the dryer on medium or high. Should you choose to line dry, the sun is an excellent bleaching agent and should help remove any stains. Line drying will take a while, but you know that already. *important note: DO NOT use fabric softeners. They may prevent the fabrics from absorbing liquids and cause leaking. You can, however, use dryer balls to help keep your diapers soft*

6. Put Away- Or leave in a pile, in the laundry basket, or shove in a drawer. Whatever "method" works best at your house. Luckily, with these diapers, there’s not much to sort!

Also note that the bamboo diapers will reach maximum absorbency after 7-10 total washes, so they will only get better with time.

What type of Laundry detergent to use?
Don't be afraid of your diaper laundry, embrace it.
It is however, recommend that you use detergents that are free from:
enzymes, fabric softeners, brighteners, scents and dyes.

Some of the best recommended detergents are: All Small & Mighty- Free and Clear, Allen’s Naturally, Astra, Country Save, Eco-Max, Mountain Green- Free and Clear, Mountain Green- Free and Clear baby, Planet, Purex- Free and Clear, and Seventh Generation- Sensitive Care.
Drying tip:
Since bamboo is so absorbant, it takes longer than cotton to dry in the dryer. I will either toss a clean dry towel in my dryer to help my diapers dry more quickly OR wash my diapers in the evening, hang dry in my basement overnight and toss them in the dryer to fluff them in the morning.
